Claire’s passion for contra dancing started in college and it naturally grew into calling by 1994. Her engaging personality and choice of zesty and flowing dances make for a captivating evening for new and experienced dancers. Claire regularly calls dances throughout Arizona and the Southwest. She has called twice at the May Madness Dance camp in Prescott AZ and this year will be her third calling tour through several Mid-Atlantic States. As a dancer, musician and a caller, her greatest joy is to put together an evening that seamlessly integrates these elements building an evening to remember.

Claire calls and also plays bodhrán clogs and sings with contra dance band, STEAM, which includes Dave Firestine (mandolin) from Tucson, and Alice Boyle (fiddle), and Robert Rosenberg (guitar), both hailing from eastern Canada. In July 2011 they embarked on their first east coast tour in the Washington DC area.

In Arizona, you can hear Claire in her duo with Dave Firestine called Púca. They play a variety of songs and tunes featuring Dave's driving mandolin and bouzouki on Irish and Appalachian tunes.
